Doing Your Job

I'm considering getting my Class 1 licence, but I'm only 19. Would I be stuck on Canada-only runs for two years?
Chris A.

At 19, you're at an ideal age to begin a driving career. You need to be 21 to run in the US, but many companies and driving schools are partnering to give new drivers a couple of years experience (in a type of apprenticeship program) running in Canada before they're old enough to run to the US.

If you're shopping for a school, try to find one that is involved in such a program. You can get to work two years earlier in the apprenticeship model that you would otherwise.
